Richard D. Randall

Mr. Randall is CEO of Trans1, an early stage medical device company in the field of orthopedics. He is also Founder and Chairman of IncuMed, a medical device incubator firm. Prior to founding IncuMed, he served a President and CEO of Innovasive Devices, Inc. from 1994 – 2000, when the Ethicon Division of Johnson & Johnson acquired the firm. Innovasive Devices was a developer, manufacturer and marketer of arthroscopic surgical products. From 1989 to 1996 Mr. Randall served as President, Chairman and Director of Target Therapeutics, Inc. a medical device company serving the interventional neurosurgery market. Target was acquired by Boston Scientific, Inc. in 1996. Prior to Target, Mr. Randall held various sales and marketing management positions with Trimedyne, Inc., Baxter Edwards and the USI Division of CR Bard, Inc. Mr. Randall is a co-founder of Conceptus, Inc. and Cardima, Inc. Mr. Randall currently serves as a Director of Conceptus. He received a degree in science education from the State University of New York at Buffalo.


Steven Mercil

Mr. Mercil is the founder, President and CEO of RAIN Source Capital, Inc. (formerly Minnesota Investment Network Corporation). RAIN Source Capital, Inc., is a regional and national organization recognized for its expertise in coordinating the investment capital of angel investors for use with start-up and development stage companies. He is on the Board of Directors for the Angel Capital Association and has been instrumental in bringing angel investment opportunities to the Midwest. He is currently spearheading efforts to set up regional investment networks of angel investors throughout the United States.


Wesley E. Schultz

Mr. Schultz was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and Director of Rural Cellular Corporation, (RCC) headquartered in Alexandria, Minnesota prior to its sale to Verizon Wireless in 2008. Mr. Schultz has thirty years of diversified experience in finance, accounting, administrative and human resources management. Mr. Schultz also has extensive experience with business mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and financing, divestitures, start-up ventures and company expansions. He previously has held CFO and management positions in several Minnesota-based, high technology companies including Spanlink Communications, Inc. (SPLK), Serving Software, Inc. (SSI) and National Computer Systems, Inc. (NLCS). Mr. Schultz is a CPA and has been an auditor with Touché Ross & Company. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Dakota with a BSBA in Accounting and has professional affiliations with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.
